Making the most of the Lots of Happy card kit

Hello and thanks for joining me today.

We used the Stampin’ Up! all inclusive Lots of Happy card kit at a recent papercraft workshop and I had some of the kit left over.

In case you haven’t seen this kit, it includes everything you need to make 20 cards, 4 each of 5 designs and there’s a YouTube video to support you with the kit…

I made these 2 cards following the instructions (with just a little change to the sentiments, I’ve never been great at following instructions lol!)…

The kit comes with the 4 watercolour pencils shown but I also used a Blender pen to colour these 2 cards; which isn’t included but I would recommend it.

My only criticism is that the hexagon card only stands up at an angle and you have to make it this way as there’s a blank space under the gold banner that would be tricky to cover otherwise. I thought it would be nice to use the hexagon on a larger card to get round this issue.

To kill 2 birds with 1 stone I also used the colours from Victoria Littlewood’s challenge in the Stampin’ For All Facebook group…

I used a Gray Granite card base and added a layer of Highland Heather card that I’d embossed with the Tutfed 3D folder. I used my Stampin’ Write markers to add Shaded Spruce to the leaves and Highland Heather to the flowers. For the larger flowers I only added a little ink in the centre of the flowers and used Wink Of Stella to add some glimmer and blend the colour outwards a little.

I stamped the sentiment in Highland Heather ink onto one of the squares from the card kit. I added the coloured hexagon to the embossed card then added some Gray Granite ribbon and then popped the sentiment square with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

However, this means that I had a hexagon card base, envelope etc left in the kit so I couldn’t let that go to waste, could I?

I used the large floral stamp from the kit onto the card base with Versamark ink, added clear embossing powder and then heat set it. I added the banner, vellum leaves and flower die cuts that I didn’t use for the last card. All I need to add was a sentiment which I stamped using Highland Heather ink onto a scrap of Whisper White card and cut using the Tailored Tag punch.

I’ll be back tomorrow with another alternative card using some of the elements from this kit and it just so happens to fit in with another colour challenge.

I reckon I’m definitely getting my monies worth out of this kit!

There’s a link to the kit in my friend Valerie’s online Stampin’ Up! store below, along with the other products I used from my stash in case you’d like to purchase any of them.

Happy crafting,

Heather x
