Hello.
If you read my blog frequently then you’ll know that when I’m out shopping I’m always on the look out for fun things to craft with. Last week I found a pack of 3 pencils with dinosaur eraser tops and just had to buy them to use with the cute Dinoroar Suite from Stampin’ Up!
I’ve made a number of these wraps for pencils, pens and nail files and always credit the lovely Kaye Mellor of www.paperskiescrafting.co.uk for her awesome tutorial…
I cut down the Dinoroar designer series paper to 6 x 6 inches and scored at 1 & 1/2 inches, 3 inches and 4 & 1/2 inches and folded as shown in Kaye’s video (top right corner folded in to the first score line, top left corner folded in to the second score line and bottom left corner folded in to the first score line)
These are so quick and easy to make they’d be great as a thank you gift for kids attending a party…
For this one I stamped the sentiment from the Dino Days stamp set in Pretty Peacock ink onto Whisper White card and cut it with the Everyday label punch. I also used the punch on some Noble Peacock foil, cut it in half and glued it to the back of the stamped one to leave a little edge showing at either end. This was then simply glued to the wrap once the pencil was in place.
This would also make a lovely little gift for starting school or just to remind anyone that they’re Rawrsome!
For these ones I stamped in Lovely Lipstick and cut with a Rectangle Stitched Die and in Pumpkin Pie (it matched the dinosaur better than the Mango Melody in the paper) and cut with a Layering Circles die..
I hope you’ve enjoyed these cute wee gifts today. I’ve listed the Stampin’ Up! products I’ve used below. You can click on the links if you’d like to buy any of them.
Happy crafting,
