Delightful Day shaker card

Hello and thanks for joining me.

Today’s card was created for this week’s ‘Crafty Stamping Club – Smiths Crafty Creations’ sketch challenge…

The image uploaded on the Facebook Group was a bit blurry and I thought it was an oval instead of the circle so that’s what I used for this card…

It would work just as well with a circle though, lol.

It’s a shaker card and the sequins move about when you shake it…

I used my normal Whisper White thick card base of 21 x 14.5 cm, scored and folded on the long side at 10.5 cm.

I cut a piece of the Pineapple Punch designer series paper from the 2018-2020 In Colors pack to measure 8 x 12 cm. I cut another piece of Whisper White card just slightly smaller than my paper and stamped this with a stamp from the Delightful Day set, using Pineapple Punch ink.

I cut the oval in the designer series paper (DSP) with an oval from the Stitched Shapes dies – I’ve saved the oval to use in another project later. Waste not, want not!

I added a piece of window sheet to the back of the DSP to cover the aperture.

I used a pencil to mark the outside of the die to frame the stamp and then used my pencil line as a guide to add foam adhesive strips. I added some retired sequins I had in my stash to the centre of the stamped part. I made sure that the whole of my stamped piece had adhesive strips on it to make sure the DSP was fully supported when I added it on top. I then added my sandwich to the card base.

I added a piece of Pineapple Punch card measuring 2 x 10 cm under the window. Then I made a ‘bow’ from the same card that I cut to just 1 cm wide. I used my bone folder to curl it for the loops, added a strip for the ‘ends’ of the ribbon and wrapped a bit around the middle to give the illusion of a bow.

This week’s challenge runs until Friday 26th July 2019 if you’d like to pop over to the ‘Crafty Stamping Club – Smiths Crafty Creations’ Facebook group to join in. We’d love to see your creation using this layout.

I’ve listed the products I’ve used (with an alternative to the sequins) and you can click on the links if you’d like to buy any of them.

Happy crafting,

Heather x
