Hello and thanks for joining me.
Today I’ve got a little triangular box that holds a lip balm or lipstick that was inspired by a friend’s little treat holder…
My inspiration came from Karen of www.CorriePapercrafts.Blogspot.com and I used her tutorial video for the method but used my own dimensions and decorations…
I used a piece of 2019-2021 In Color Designer Series Paper in Purple Posy, that measures 6 x 6 inches – so you don’t even have to cut it. On the first side score at 1 & 1/4 inches and then again at 4 & 3/4 inches. On the second side score at 2 & 1/2 inches and then again at 3 & 1/2 inches.
Use Karen’s instructions for the construction, except you won’t punch the tops. The great thing about these is that you can do most of the construction and lay them flat for when you’re ready to complete them – great for swaps in Karen’s case or Craft Fairs in mine.
To decorate my version I used the Daisy Punch with White Vellum card and inked the edges of them with Highland Heather ink and a sponge dauber. I think I used 6 of them but it could have been 5. I used my bone folder to really curl each petal before glueing them together, that’s why my flower is really 3D and it’s difficult to count how many I ended up using, lol.
Once I had them glued together I kind of squished them together a bit more. I used my Leaf Punch with some Pear Pizzazz card and added these under the flower. I added a fuzzy Perennial Essence Floral Centre in the middle of the flower too.
I thought the sentiment Smile was perfect for a lip balm box. This stamp is part of the Daisy Lane set and I stamped it with Highland Heather ink onto Purple Posy card and cut it with an oval from the Stitched Shapes dies.
I used a retired clip to close my box but you could punch holes and thread it with the ribbon on your choice instead. As I’m making these for a craft fair the clips were just easier and I’ve still got lots of them to use up.
I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s project and many thanks to Karen for her inspiration.
I’ve listed the current Stampin’ Up! products I’ve used below and you can click on any of them to visit my friend Valerie’s online shop to purchase any of them.
Happy crafting,
Heather x
