Hello and thanks for joining me.
With the new Stampin’ Up! 2019-2021 Annual Catalogue that launched today comes 5 new In Colors that run from 2019-2021 and here they are…
I’ve chose Seaside Spray to make a box with, for a number of reasons. Firstly, it’s a beautiful colour, secondly, I live by the sea and finally because it works well with what’s in the box.
I chose to make one of my favourite box types, a milk carton, because they’re so easy to do. Here it is…
And here’s what’s inside…
It’s not an exact match for my candle but it’s pretty close, isn’t it?
I started with a piece of Seaside Spray card that measures 10 & 1/2 inches by 8 & 1/4 inches. I scored this on the long side at 2 & 1/2 inches, 5 inches, 7 & 1/2 inches and 10 inches. I also scored on the short side at 2 & 1/2 inches, 6 inches and 7 &1/2 inches.
Back on the long side I scored at 3 & 3/4 inches and 8 & 3/4 inches just to the first horizontal score line. These lines are then used to add in diagonal score lines as shown in the following photo (it’s a different size but the same cutting pattern)
I added panels of the 2019-2021 In Colors designer series paper to the 4 sides of the box that measure 2 & 1/4 inches by 3 & 1/4 inches. I also added 2 pieces that measure 2 & 1/4 inches by 1 & 1/4 inches to the front and back top panels.
I used my crop-a-dile to punch holes in the top section to allow me to thread through the Silver Metallic Edge ribbon. This tool punches through multiple layers of card with ease!
I stamped the flowers from the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set in Seaside Spray ink onto Whisper White card and cut them with the Bouquet Bunch dies.
The sentiment is from the same stamp set and was cut out using a 2 inch circle punch. I used my Starburst punch to cut a piece from Seaside Spray card to back the stamped circle. I added the die cut flowers to the front of the circle and the foliage (all using the Bouquet Bunch dies) to the back and then added them to the front of the box with dimensionals.
The top looked a little bare so I added a little flower and a trimmed down leaves die cut there too. All I need to do then was pop in the candle and tie a bow. I swear that bow took longer than the rest of the box did, lol.
I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s project. I’ve listed the products I’ve used below. You can click on the links to visit my friend Valerie’s online Stampin’ Up! shop if you’d like to purchase any of them.
Happy crafting,
