InspireInk Blog Hop – Retiring Favourites theme

May 25, 2019

25 May

Hello and welcome. Today I’m taking part in the May 2019 InspireInk Blog Hop and our theme for this month is Retiring Favourites so we’re all using products that won’t be available to buy after 3 June 2019. Please make sure you visit every blog so you can get plenty of inspiration!

I must confess that I’m a recent convert to being a fan of Lovely As A Tree and like most Stampin’ Up! fans I thought it would always be part of the catalogue. Unfortunately, it’s not featured in the new catalogue so I thought it deserved a bright sending off; so I paired it with one of my all-time favourite colours that is also retiring….

I will miss Lemon Lime Twist!

My card base is Whisper White card measuring 21 x 14.5 cm, scored and folded on the long side at 10.5 cm to create a landscape tent fold. I cut a piece of Lemon Lime Twist card to 10 x 14 cm and then a piece of the retiring Gingham Gala paper to 9.5 x 13.5 cm. I then cut the Gingham Gala piece into 3 sections and turned the pattern for the middle section. I chose to cut mine down to 2 pieces 3cm wide and the middle piece being 7.5 cm wide but you could make them more even if you wanted.

I then added a band of Lemon Lime Twist across the centre of the card. This measures 2 x 14 cm so that it goes right to the edge of the bottom layer of Lemon Lime Twist card.

I stamped the sentiment from the Climbing Orchid stamp set (also retiring unfortunately) in Lemon Lime Twist ink onto Whisper White card and trimmed it to fit and cut the end into a banner and glued it to the centre band.

I stamped the tree using Lemon Lime Twist and Crumb Cake inks onto Whisper White card. I used my Stampin’ Write markers and my Stamparatus to make this easier on myself but you could mask the stamp and use ink pads or use sponge daubers instead – it’s up to you.

I cut the tree and another piece of Lemon Lime Twist with the larger Layering Circles dies. I added this to my card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
