Hello and happy Sunday to you all.
I mentioned the other day that my supply of birthday cards was running low so I’d made some to top it up. The ones I made were rather flowery so I thought I’d better try to come up with something a little less girly too!
I picked the Amazing Life stamp set to work with and came up with this…
This is #simplestamping at it’s easiest. I’ve only used 2 inks and 2 stamps from the 1 set for the card. The best bit is that you can’t go wrong with a random stamped background, you just do it your way. You could make it even easier by using just 1 ink for the YAY! stamps.
I used my normal Whisper White card base measuring 29 x 10.5 cm, scored and folded at 14.5 cm to create a portrait tent fold. I then added a layer of Bermuda Bay card measuring 10 x 14 cm. I cut a piece of Whisper White to measure 9.5 x 13.5 cm and started stamping.
I stamped the Happy Birthday in Pacific Point ink onto a piece of Whisper White card that is 1 inch wide. My piece was longer than needed so that I didn’t have to worry about stamping it perfectly in the middle. I glued it where I wanted to on the stamped background and then trimmed off the excess at each side. I then added this layer to my card.
This gives you a similar effect as if you’d masked this area of the card, but is MUCH easier to do.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this card and will have a go at creating your own version. If you haven’t already got the Amazing Life stamp set then you’d better hurry as it will be retiring on 3rd June 2019 and is now on a ‘while stocks last’ basis.
I’ve listed the products I’ve used below. You can click on any of the product links to visit my online Stampin’ Up! store. I’d be honoured to be your independent demonstrator.
Happy crafting,
