Hello and thanks for joining me. Today I have a little gift box for a friend to share with you…
To make this box I started with some Pear Pizzaz card measuring 6 inches by 5 & 1/2 inches. Score on the short side at 1 & 1/4, 3 & 1/2, 4 & 3/4 and 5 inches. Score on the long side at 1 & 1/4 and 4 & 3/4 inches. Then follow the following photo as a cutting guide…
Make sure you don’t wedge the second tabs from the bottom as these will be shown on the outside so you want a nice neat edge. Add glue to the side tabs as shown below (none on tab 1)
Glue tab 1 to 2 lining up the top edge of 1 with the bottom fold of 2 to get a nice square shape, then fold up tab 3 to cover the join. Do the same at the other end.
I used my 1/2 inch punch on the front panel to create a thumb grip on the lid. This box is a good fit for a lip balm and a little hand cream. To decorate the box I used a piece of Subtles designer series paper measuring 3 x 3 inches to create a belly band that almost covers the box.
The sentiment comes from the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set and is in Pear Pizzaz ink onto Whisper White card, cut with a Rectangle Stitched framelit. I then added 3 Bitty Blooms punched from scraps cut away from the Pear Pizzaz card used for the box with pearls added to the centres.
I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s project. I’ve listed the products used below and you can click on any of them to visit my online Stampin’ Up! shop. I’d be delighted to be your independent demonstrator.
Let me know if you have any questions or comments. I’d love to hear from you.
Happy crafting

It’s beautiful Heather, I love the idea of a belly band instead of decorating the box. Green isn’t usually a ‘go to’ colour for me but this one is so lovely. Thanks for the inspiration xx

It’s a lovely shade of green but I only chose it as it was close to the colour of the hand cream 😊 x
