Stamping For All Sketch Challenge

Hello.

As you’ll have gathered from recent blogs I’m enjoying taking part in some challenges when I have the time. The latest is a card layout or ‘Sketch’ challenge in the Stamping For All Facebook group. While this group was set up by the very talented independent Stampin’ Up! demonstrator Amanda Charlesworth aka Scrimping Mommy, it’s not just for Stampin’ Up! products so if you’d like to join in don’t feel you have to have the latest SU products.

So the challenge set in the group on Wednesday was to follow this sketch…

I think the last time I took part in a sketch challenge is this group I used the super cute First Steps stamp set and I’ve done it again, but this time using Blushing Bride….

I rather like the combination of pink and grey so I added in some Smoky Slate card and ink to the mix.

My card base is Whisper White Thick card measuring 21 x 14.5 cm, score and folded on the long side at 10.5 cm.

I cut a piece of Blushing Bride card to measure 10 x 14 cm and ran it through my Big Shot in the Scattered Sequins embossing folder. I thought the bottom of the sketch was a little bit bare so I made sure the sequins were falling down to the bottom so it has a bit more interest there.

I cut some Smoky Slate card and some Blushing Bride paper from the Subtles Designer Series pack into 2 inch strips and then cut one end with my Triple Banner Punch. I glued the 2 banners together and then added them to the embossed card and trimmed them at the top so there wasn’t any gap.

I then added some Whisper White card across the card that is 4 x 10 cm. I also added some more of the DSP as I thought the band was too stark without it. I really made this card up as I went along, lol.

Finally I got inky with the First Steps stamps. I stamped those podgy hand prints in Blushing Bride ink onto Whisper White card along with the sentiment and heart in Smoky Slate ink. I punched this with my 2 inch circle punch and backed it with a Starburst in Smoky Slate card. This final layer was added with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the whole lot was added to my card base.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this project. Once I had the First Steps stamp set out I couldn’t stop using it so you’ll see some other projects featuring this stamp in the next few days.

I’ve listed the products I’ve used in today’s card below. You can click on any of them to visit my online Stampin’ Up! shop at any time. I’d love to be your independent demonstrator.

If you have any questions on today’s project or any Stampin’ Up! products please use the Contact Me form in the main menu to get in touch and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.

Happy crafting,

Heather x
