Hello and thanks for joining me today.
Stampin’ Up!’s stamp sets make it so easy for us to make our friends and family some beautiful cards with heartwarming or inspiring messages. But, I’m sure we’ve all got at least one person in our lives that deserves a cheeky card. So here’s one that you might like to consider for someone older than you…
We all know that to determine how old a tree is you need to count the rings and this stamp from Rooted In Nature appears to have rather a lot of rings!
My card base is Whisper White card measuring 29 x 10.5 cm, scored and folded at 14.5 cm to create a portrait tent fold. I then added a panel of Crumb Cake card measuring 10 x 14 cm.
I cut a piece of Whisper White to measure 9.5 x 13.5 cm and stamped the tree slice from Rooted In Nature in Crumb Cake ink.
I added the HOW OLD ? in crumb cake ink with the Labeler Alphabet set, which is so handy when you want to make your own sentiments like this one.
To add just a bit more detail, before I added the stamped layer to the card I added some score lines parallel to each edge…
This is so easy to do using the Simply Scored tool or the scoring blade on your trimmer and just makes a plain card a little bit more special.
I stamped the large Happy Birthday stamp from the Perennial Birthday stamp set to the inside of the card in Crumb Cake ink, along with some partial tree slices…
I hope you’ve enjoyed this fun card today. If you don’t have the Rooted In Nature stamp set but have the Wood Textures designer series paper there’s a tree rings page in there that you could use for a similarly cheeky card.
I’ve listed all of the products I’ve used in today’s card below. You can click on any of the product links to visit my online Stampin’ Up! shop and I’d be delighted to be your independent demonstrator.
Happy crafting,
Heather x
