Balmy Blue lip balm box

Hello.

The title of today’s blog could be a tongue twister, couldn’t it?

This is what it’s all about, a cute lidded box for an EOS lip balm made from Balmy Blue card and DSP…

The box base is made from card measuring 7 & 1/2 inches by 5 & 1/2 inches. Score on the long side at 1 & 3/4, 3 & 1/2, 5 & 1/4 and 7 inches and on the short side at 1 & 3/4 inches. You can see how I cut this in the photo below:

The lid is made from card measuring 2 & 3/4 inches square, which I scored at 1/2 inch on each side. To make sure the lid isn’t too tight I put a piece of card on edge at the left of my score tool as shown below:

Each panel was covered with DSP. You’ll need 5 pieces that measure 1 & 5/8 inches square. Add 1 piece on each side of the box nearer to the bottom edge so they don’t make the lid too tight. Add the last piece to the lid.

I’ve shown you where to add tear & tape in one of the photos above and in the one below

Adhere the side tab and then the flaps for the base. With your join at the back, fold in the sides, the back & then the front to create a strong base. Glue all 4 small tabs for your lid.

Pop in your lip balm and tie some of the Balmy Blue organdy ribbon from the FREE Sale-A-Bration set of 5 spools.

To decorate the front I stamped the ‘Hope you feel better soon’ from the Host set Hand Delivered in Balmy Blue ink onto Whisper White card. I cut this and a backing Balmy Blue scalloped circle using my Layering Circles framelits dies.

The little flower was made using the Bitty Blooms pinches with Lemon Lime Twist for the leaves. I love these tiny punches so I can see me using them a lot!

I think this would be a cute little pick me up gift for anyone feeling poorly. I hope you agree. I’d love to hear your comments that you can leave me below.

I’ve listed the products used below and you can click on the links to visit my online shop at anytime.

Remember that if your total order is £45 before P&P you could get the Organdy Ribbons for FREE during Sale-A-Bration

Happy crafting

Heather x
