InspireINK – a sketch challenge

Hello & welcome! Especially if you’re a first time visitor around this blog hop.

InspireINK Header

This is the first time that I’ve joined in with the InspireINK Blog Hop and also the first time I’ve ever done a Sketch Challenge – eek!  Please be gentle with me, lol.

The lovely Keila Calver set this month’s challenge and here’s the sketch she chose for us to follow:

I actually made my card for this challenge when it was snowing, despite it being just a few days away from the official start of Spring.  I think that may have influenced the bright colours and the word HOPE!

fullsizeoutput_1afe

My card base was cut from Thick Whisper White measuring 21 x 14.5cm which was scored on the long side at 10.5cm to form a conventional side opening card. My first layer is Lemon Lime Twist card measuring 14 x 10 cm.  I then added a layer of Daffodil Delight measuring 13.5 x 9.5cm.

The band across the middle is Lemon Lime Twist and measures 9.5 x 3 cm, which I misted with water before using the Petal Burst embossing folder.  I find this really helps to avoid creases when you emboss.

The flower is from my old favourite Flower Shop and was stamped using Daffodil Delight ink on a scrap of Whisper White, before being cut out using the Pansy Punch.  The greenery I added behind the flower is Old Olive card cut using 2 of the Bouquet Bunch framelits.

The word hope is in Daffodil Delight card and comes from the Sunshine Wishes dies. Finally I added a few of the Glitter Enamel Dots that come in 4 different sizes and an ombre hues of 4 colours.  I just love a bit of sparkle and this sketch seemed to cry out for it.

I hope this card has brightened your day a little and I hope that you’ll continue to hop around the other lovely bloggers that have taken part in this sketch challenge.  Please click on the picture below to see what the fabulous Tina Kreativbox has in store for you…
