InspireINK Blog Hop – Funfair & Carnival

Hello!  Thank you for visiting.  I hope you’re having lots of fun hopping around today’s blogs on the theme of Funfairs & Carnival.  I can’t wait to read them all to see what everyone else has created.

I have to admit that this theme had me well and truly stuck for ideas! I knew that I had to use bright colours and Lovely Lipstick and Pineapple Punch are certainly fun colours that you might see in a funfair!. Eventually (after a lot of time lost in Pinterest, lol) I decided to make a circus tent using card stock in each of these colours….

As you will see, my card base is Pineapple Punch. It started off as measuring 8 x 5 inches.  I scored on the long side at 2 and 6 inches and created a gatefold base. I then measured 3 inches from the bottom along each of the folds, made a little pencil mark then used this to cut the diagonal lines to the middle of the card.  The stripes on the tent are Lovely Lipstick and the vertical ones measure 1/4 inch by 3 inches.  The diagonal ones I left a little longer so that I could add them to the card and then trim off the excess.

I used some Lovely Lipstick Grossgrain Ribbon to cover the edge between the sides and roof on my tent.

I punched holes in each side of the card with the new Detailed Trio punch so that I could thread some Pineapple Punch ribbon through to keep the card closed.

Inside I added a panel of Very Vanilla card that I stamped with the gorgeous new Detailed With Love stamp set.  The Happy Birthday is Blueberry Bushel and the little squiggles are in Pineapple Punch ink.

Finally I cut some flags from the remaining In Color card that I hadn’t used so far; Blueberry Bushel, Grapefruit Grove and Call Me Clover.  I popped these up with mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. Then I added an extra one to the top of the back of the card as the flag on the top of the tent.
