Hello
Over in the “Crafty Stamping Club – Smiths Crafty Creations” Facebook group Tricia Smith’s current challenge to use all is to create a project with a masculine feel to it.
Many people seem to struggle with masculine cards but Stampin’ Up! have so many suitable products that all we need is a little bit of inspiration. Hopefully this week’s challenge will help. Here’s my card…
I’ve used Night Of Navy card for my base and added a layer of Whisper White that I’ve embossed with the Brick & Mortar 3D folder. I then cut a piece of the Country Club designer series paper (DSP) to measure 8 x 12 cm.
I cut 3 strips of Garden Green card and 2 of Night of Navy, each measuring 2.5cm wide. I cut the ends of 2 of the Garden Green ones with my Triple Banner Punch and lined up the top of the V with the corner of the DSP and the bottom of the strip is 2 cm up from the bottom corner of the DSP. I used my grid paper to help with this spacing. I did the same with the other cut piece of Garden Green card but lined the V with the top left corner. The remaining Garden Green strip was placed in between the other 2.
I then added the Night of Navy strips so that the edges met and trimmed off the excess of all the strips except the banner ends.
I cut the sentiments from Whisper White card using the Well Written dies and added them to the Night of Navy strips.
The stars stamped in Garden Green ink onto the Garden Green card are from the Label Me Bold stamp set. Now you might notice that this isn’t my best stamping and that’s because it was an afterthought! The card just needed something more and so I had to stamp these pieces once I’d added them to the card. Thank goodness for sticky notes to help mask off the areas I didn’t want to get inky! In fact I recently found a sticky note on a roll with a dispenser that is my new best friend – click here if you’re interested (not an affiliate link, just trying to be helpful)
I added a Whisper White panel inside the card, along with a thin strip of DSP and stamped some more stars…
I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s card. Please join us in the “Crafty Stamping Club – Smiths Crafty Creations” group for more inspiration or to take part in the weekly challenges, the more the merrier.
