Hello.
My last two blogs were showing you an autumnal card for a colour challenge and a Christmas wreath. Today’s project is a bit of a crossover between the two…
I used the Leaf Punch with more Cajun Craze card but this time I teamed it up with Pumpkin Pie and Crushed Curry; which are all part of the Regals Collection.
For a change I’ve used a card base from Merry Merlot card that measures 11 & 1/2 inches by 5 & 3/4 inches, scored and folded on the long side at 5 & 3/4 inches. I then cut 2 panels of Very Vanilla card to each measure 5 & 1/2 inches square; one for the card front and one is for inside the card.
I used 2 of the larger Layering Circles dies together to create a thin ring from some scrap card and used that to glue my leaves together. I used a silicone mat so that I didn’t end up sticking the whole lot to my desk!
I used some low tack tape to add my card front to the card base and ran them together through my Big Shot with a smaller circle die roughly in the centre. I then took the Very Vanilla layer off again and ran it through the Big Shot with my (retired!) Cable Knit embossing folder. I added the embossed layer onto the card base and then glued my other Very Vanilla panel to the inside of the card.
I stamped the sentiment from Very Versailles stamp set in Merry Merlot ink through the aperture of the card front so that it was quite central. I then added my wreath of leaves around the aperture.
I love the combination of the Autumnal colours and the look of a cosy winter sweater. The current Autumn/Winter catalogue has a different Winter Knit embossing folder that you could use instead; I just don’t have that one, yet! Lol.
I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s card. I’ve listed the products used below (with the alternative embossing folder) and you can click on any of the links if you’d like to purchase them.
Happy crafting,
