Hello.
Warning – this post mentions Christmas!
The Autumn/Winter Stampin’ Up! catalogue will be with us all on 4th September 2019. All of my demonstrator friends will have already seen it and will soon be able to order from it. I’m SO jealous, lol.
I really want to see all the new Christmas products but in the meantime I’ve been consoling myself with some leftovers from previous years. I had used most of my pack of Year Of Cheer speciality designer series paper but still had some scraps left. Enough to make some of these gift tags…
I used pieces that measured 2 x 4 inches and used my Scalloped Tag Topper punch to instantly turn them into tags. This paper is single sided so is plain white on the back, ready to write on.
To decorate them I used a retired stamp set Merry Little Labels with Versamark ink on Whisper White card, added Silver Stampin’ Emboss powder and heat set it. I then cut them out with my Everyday Label punch and glued it to the front of the tag.
I threaded some polka dot tulle ribbon through the top and tied it with baker’s twine. I added some old trinkets I had left over and tied the twine in a bow.
In the end I managed to pull together 24 tags with various charms and ribbons from my stash, mainly retired and not all of it Stampin’ Up! It was very much a #usewhatyouhave exercise.
The Just For You stamp is also from the Merry Little labels set and because some of the paper had gold and silver in the design I used some Gold Stampin’ Emboss powder on a few of them, to mix it up.
I really did feel that I’d created something rather nice from almost nothing; which made me a very proud thrifty Scot, lol.
Some of the charms I used were purchased from the Clearance Rack, out of season. It’s always worth keeping an eye out for bargains in there. I’ve stocked up on paper from there recently as there are some fabulous reductions. Here’s just a few of the Christmas products on offer…
The stamp set and punch that coordinate with the All Is Bright paper are in the current Annual Catalogue. Here are some of the projects I made with these products last year…
The Clearance Rack can get updated at any time so if there’s something you like you better snap it up quickly or risk losing out. You can click on any of the clearance links above to shop now.
I hope you’ll take another look at what you’ve already got in your stash that you can make use of and maybe create some lovely tags too.
I’ve listed the current products I’ve used below. If you want to buy any of them just click the links to visit my friend Valerie’s online Stampin’ Up! store.
Happy crafting,
