Hello.
I was recently invited by a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator friend Patricia Smith (based in Fife, Scotland) to join her Facebook Group; Crafty Stamping Club – Smiths Crafty Creations. As soon as I joined I noticed that she has a weekly sketch challenge running and jumped at the chance to join in.
Here’s the sketch we were to follow…
And here’s the card I created…
I knew I wanted to use my new Button Button embossing folder as I hadn’t used it on a project since I got it from the new 2019/2020 Annual Stampin’ Up! catalogue. The obvious choice was to add buttons on the squares too. I have to confess that the jar you see in the background is one of my smallest and emptiest, from a wide variety of jars in my craft room – I have a button addiction! Lol.
I cut my usual size of card base from Blushing Bride card measuring 21 x 14.5 cm, scored and folded on the long side at 10.5 cm. I then added a piece of the Follow Your Art designer series paper measuring 2 x 14.5 cm before running the front of the card base through my Big Shot in the Button Button embossing folder.
I cut 3 squares from Purple Posy card using one of the Stitched Shapes dies. I stamped the sentiment from the It Starts With Art stamp set in Gorgeous Grape ink on one of them and added 3 Glitter Enamel Dots.
I added various buttons from the Arts & Crafts dies in Gorgeous Grape and Highland Heather card to the other 2 squares. To add a bit more interest I added some Whisper White Baker’s Twine to two of them and popped them up with mini dimensionals, to make it look like they’d been stitched on.
Each of the 3 squares was added to the card base with dimensionals.
I hope you like my interpretation of this sketch. Why not log onto Facebook and ask to join Tricia’s group so that you can join in with future challenges (this one has now ended). I’m sure we’d all welcome you onboard.
I’ve listed the products I used below. You can click on any of the links to visit my friend Valerie’s online Stampin’ Up! store if you’d like to buy any of them.
Happy crafting,
Heather x
