Hello.
It’s been a while since I’ve taken part in any of the challenges over at the Stampin’ For All Facebook group as I’ve been away on holiday and out of my craft room for nearly 3 weeks! Eek.
So when Ian gave us this sketch challenge on Monday I decided it was time to give it a go…
In another group we’ve been reminded that it’s now less than 6 months to Christmas and we’ve got an album set up for Christmas crafts to inspire each other over the next few months. So I thought I’d kill two birds with one stone…
I bought some Christmas themed designer series paper that is currently hugely reduced in the Stampin’ Up! Clearance Rack; it’s called Dashing Along. You get 12 sheets of 12 x 12 inch paper for just £4.10 – what a bargain!
I used a piece of this designer series paper to cover the whole of my card front (14.5 x 10.5 cm). The card base is made from Whisper White Thick card measuring 21 x 14.5cm, scored and folded on the long side at 10.5cm to give a landscape tent fold.
I added the panel of Garden Green card with the measurements shown in the sketch and then trimmed a card from the retired Merry Little Christmas Memories and More pack to the measurements given. I’m pretty sure I picked these up in the clearance rack too and I used lots of them for a kids card making class last year. It really is worth keeping an eye out for the bargains you can get ‘off season’ and use them later.
I added the word Peace that is a sticker from the same Memories and More pack. Finally, I added some rhinestones to 3 of the little baubles for that little bit of sparkle.
As I had a bit of the trimmed Memories and More card left over I decided to add it as a border at the bottom of the inside of the card…
I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s quick and easy card. Why not pop over to the Stampin’ For All facebook group and join in with this challenge?
These challenges are a great way to inspire you to do something you might not otherwise have created and is fabulous if you’re stuck in a creative rut! We’d love you to join us.
Tomorrow is Thursday so I’ll be sharing projects made by some of my talented friends and then I’ll be back on Friday with another project using this designer series paper that isn’t at all Christmassy.
Happy crafting,
Heather x
