Hello and thanks for joining me.
My crafty friend Helzie from www.slimmandstylish.com set us a challenge over in the Stampin’ For All Facebook group earlier this week. Her challenge was to create a fancy fold card. My immediate thought was that I’d give this a miss and then reminded myself that it’s called a challenge for a reason and I should give it a try.
So with a lengthy detour in Pinterest – you know how easily it is to spend time there don’t you? – I decided I liked this step fold style and here’s what I created…
This essentially a normal portrait tent fold card with a little extension out the front…
And it neatly folds up flat to go in a C6 envelope…
I started with my normal size of card base using Soft Suede card measuring 29 x 10.5 cm, scored and folded at 14.5 cm. I added a piece of the wood grain paper from the Nature’s Poem designer series paper pack measuring 10 x 14 cm.
I then cut another piece of Soft Suede card measuring 5.5 x 29 cm. This is scored at 14.5cm and 21.75 cm. I added some of the leaf printed paper from Nature’s Poem to the top of this piece of card, measuring 5 x 14.5 cm.
I then cut a piece of Soft Suede card to measure 8 x 8 cm and a piece of the leaf paper to 7.5 x 7.5 cm. This was added to the bottom part of the long piece of card.
I stamped the sentiment from Rooted In Nature in Soft Suede ink onto Whisper White card and cut it with a Stitched Shape die.
I used the coordinating Natures Roots dies to emboss and cut a few leaves from Soft Suede card. The sentiment is popped up with dimensionals and the leaves were tucked under the edge, making sure that they don’t extend past the the card base so that the card fits the envelope.
I then stamped a piece of Whisper White card measuring 10 x 14 cm with Soft Suede ink using leaves from Rooted In Nature along the top and bottom edge and added this to the inside of the card base.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this card. Why not join in with the challenge? You don’t need to use Stampin’ Up! products and you’d be made very welcome in the Stampin’ For All group.
I’ve listed the products I’ve used in today’s card below. You can click on any of the product links to visit my online Stampin’ Up! shop. The stamps and dies I used are currently available as a bundle with a 10% saving but only if you buy them by 3 June 2019. They will still be available after then but not with the bundle saving.
Happy crafting,
Heather x
