Pencil Pot and sticky note holder

Hello.

Today I have a gift idea for the men in your life that work at a desk, at least some of the time. This might be a good Father’s Day or Teacher gift…

I used a tutorial from Pootles as my inspiration for this project. It just happened to appear in my feed on Pinterest and I thought it would work well as a masculine project too. Here’s the tutorial for the Pootles version:

I didn’t want to add ribbon and I thought it would be useful to include some sticky notes in the project so I simply added a little box to the front.

I used Blueberry Bushel card and some of the Best Route designer series paper for both parts of this project.

As with the original version, I used card measuring 11 x 5 & 1/2 inches and scored on the long side at 4 inches and 5 & 1/2 inches. On the short side I scored at 1 & 1/2 inches and at 4 inches. I actually added 2 layers of designer series paper to the front, the first one measuring 2 & 1/4 inches by 3 & 3/4 inches and the second one measuring 2 x 3 & 1/2 inches.

For the sticky note holder I used card measuring 5 & 3/4 inches by 2 & 1/4 inches. I scored on the long side at 1/2 inch, 1 inch, 3 & 1/8 inches and 3 & 5/8 inches. Here’s your cutting guide for this part…

The sentiment is a sneaky peek at a new stamp set available from 4th June 2019 called A Good Man. I stamped in Blueberry Bushel ink onto Whisper White card and cut it with my Layering Circles dies. I also cut a scalloped circle in Blueberry Bushel card and a larger one from vellum. I glued all 3 together and then added them to the front of the sticky note holder with a Stampin’ Dimensional.

This will take plenty of pens, pencils etc and hopefully will be a really useful gift.

I’ve listed the products I’ve used below. You can click on the product links to visit my online Stampin’ Up! store.

Please let me know if you have any comments or questions, I’d love to hear from you.

Happy crafting,

Heather x
