Hello and thanks for joining me.
Today I’d like to share a little box I’ve made for 4 tea light candles using one of my favourite pieces of Stampin’ Up! equipment; the envelope punch board.
Unfortunately, Stampin’ Up! will no longer be selling the envelope or gift bag punch boards in the new catalogue that launches on 4th June 2019. However, mine will most definitely remain in my craft room and be regularly used; I don’t think I could survive without them now! Lol.
Although designed to make envelopes the envelope punch board also make great boxes, really easily, like this one…
I use the Box Buster tool from The Crafty Owl to get the measurements for my boxes – click here to check it out.
I used a piece of the Nature’s Poem designer series paper measuring 6 & 1/2 inches square and then scored and punched at 2 & 3/4 inches and then at 3 & 7/8 inches. You then turn your paper 90 degrees and line up the pointer with your score lines, punch, score and then turn again. Repeat until you’ve done all 4 sides. You only need 4 little cuts up the 4 little tabs to turn your paper into a box…
To keep the box closed I used a piece of vellum card measuring 2 x 8 inches as a belly band. Firstly I stamped it with a leaf sprig stamp from Rooted In Nature with VersaMark ink and then sprinkled it with White Stampin’ Emboss powder and heat set it.
I then cut each each with the Scallop Tag Topper punch. I gently folded the vellum around my box and pressed the edges as I wrapped it around, rather than scoring the vellum.
I stamped the sentiment and more leaves again in VersaMark and heat embossed in white onto Mint Macaron card. This was the cut with a Stitched Rectangle die and I then punch a slot for the ribbon with my Detailed Trio punch, to create a gift tag. I threaded the Polka Dot ribbon through the gift tag and then through both ends of the vellum and tied in a double knot.
I absolutely love that the leaves I stamped and heat embossed are so similar to the ones on the designer series paper. I hope you like it too.
