Hello! I hope you are well. Today’s card is my entry for this week’s Creative Colour Challenges, set by my lovely friend Vickie of www.VickieLouDesigns.blogspot.com I’ve used the 3 colours of the challenge with an Online Exclusive stamp set that will be coming soon. Here’s my Flowers Fair spotlight card…

Here’s the colours from this week’s challenge…

ABOUT MY CARD

I have been longing to play with this beautiful large background stamp set called Flowers Fair. This will be available to purchase from Stampin’ Up! on 3 March 2026, but as an independent demonstrator I was able to get it early. For my first play, I thought I would use an old favourite technique called Spotlight.

This essentially just means that you pick an area of your card design to make the spotlight or main focus. So in this case, I stamped the background with Basic Gray ink onto Basic White card. I then cut part of it out with my 2-3/8″ circle punch. I only coloured this part with my Stampin’ Blends. To get the greens for the leaves I used both Daffodil Delight and Azure Afternoon together, mixing the lights and darks to get different tones of green.

As I didn’t have a larger circle punch to create a backing for my coloured piece, I used one of the Spotlight On Nature dies instead, with Poppy Parade card. I covered the hole in my stamped layer with the Poppy Parade circle and then added my coloured circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals…

To make lining up the coloured piece with the stamped background a little bit easier, I added a tiny dot of liquid glue to my dimensionals. That way you can lift the circle back up and replace it if you haven’t got it quite right. I do love a quick and easy second chance!

I added a sentiment from Banner Sayings, cut with one of the Three Banner punch to finish my card off.

How would you use these colours? Why not join in the challenge – you don’t need a blog, just upload your photo with your name.
