Easter Basket explosion box – video

Hello! I hope you are well. I have had so much fun making this cute Easter Basket explosion box. I’m not going to lie, it was a fair bit of work, but I reckon the end result was definitely worth it. What do you think? Here’s the top of the box…

I really like the Spring colours in the Easter Joy designer series paper pack, so I used Lemon Lolly for the box base and Balmy Blue for the lid

And I was happy to work with paper that wasn’t directional, so that I didn’t have to worry about how it would look when you see it from different angles. When you pull the lid off, the sides start to open out…

And it reveals the little basket of treats inside and then all of the decorations on the inside of the box too…

Today’s video is a bit longer than normal despite me preparing much of the decorations etc in advance!

MEASUREMENTS

To make the Easter Basket explosion box in today’s video you’ll need the following supplies

• Lemon Lolly card measuring 3″ x 9″ – scored on the long side at 3″ and 6″
• Lemon Lolly card measuring 2-17/18″ x 9″ – scored on the long side at 3″ and 6″
• Crumb Cake card measuring 10-1/2″ – 3-1/2″
  • scored on the long side at 2-1/2″, 5″, 7-1/2″ and 10″
  • scored on the short side at 1″
• Balmy Blue card measuring 6-1/16″ x 6-1/16″ – scored at 1-1/2″ on all 4 sides
• Crumb Cake card to die cut 4 Easter Baskets – only 2 need handles
• Shy Shamrock card to die cut 6 pieces of ‘grass’ (cut 2 in half for the corners)
• Easter Joy designer series paper
  • 5 pieces measuring 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″ for the outside of the box and the top of the lid
  • 4 pieces measuring 2-3/4″ x 1-1/4″ for the sides of the lid
  • 4 pieces measuring 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″ for the inside of the box
• Scraps of white and colour coordinating card for the decorations inside the box and on the lid

The finished box is a 3″ cube.
