Delicate Pines card – CCC 224

Hello! I hope you are well. Today’s card is my entry for this week’s Creative Colour Challenges, set by my lovely friend Vickie of www.VickieLouDesigns.blogspot.com I’ve used the 3 colours of the challenge with a new embossing folder and some Christmas dies! Here’s my Delicate Pines card…

Here’s the colours from this week’s challenge…

If you’d like to find out more about this fun challenge, please CLICK HERE. It’s easy to join in the fun!

To get colour to my embossed layer I added some Crushed Curry ink to the top of the Stone & Vine 3D embossing folder. This is the part with the Stampin’ Up! logo on it. Then I put my Basic White card layer inside and put the folder through my Cut & Emboss machine. This added the ink to the background parts, leaving the raised areas white.

Then I swiped my Pretty Peacock ink pad over the embossed card and it added ink to the highest of the raised parts. This gives us a lovely mix of white, yellow and green on the background piece now…

I stamped the flower from Delicate Pines with Real Red ink onto Real Red card twice and die cut them. They layer together nicely. The centre part of the flower and the leaves were created with other dies from the Delicate Pines set. To add a bit more interest to the leaves I added Pretty Peacock ink to part of them with a small blending brush.

I added a sentiment from Banner Sayings, cut with one of the Perennial Postage dies. Then the final touch was to add some Pearls of Beauty embellishments.

How would you use these colours? Why not join in the challenge – you don’t need a blog, just upload your photo with your name.

Absolutely Stunning Heather – I love how you’ve used the colours! The inked embossing really gives extra depth and the pop of red from the flower really stands out. Thank you so much for joining in with Creative Colour Challenges
