ABOUT MY CARD

My inspiration for today’s card comes from the very talented Verity of www.inkybutterfly.com who created this gorgeous card and shared it on her blog today…

I loved the clean look and that all the detail was in the top section of these beautiful cards. So I used those aspects to create my card. Verity inspires me so often but I don’t normally have an excuse to CASE her right away.

I couldn’t resist adding a bit more detail to my cards with extra layers and some embossing. Firstly, I stamped a piece of Basic White card (4 x 9cm) with one of the leafy stamps from Textured Notes, using Lost Lagoon ink. Then I cut a piece of Basic White card to measure 9 x 13 cm and embossed it with one of the Glass & Gardens embossing folders. These folders are narrow, so only some of the layer is embossed. I love this effect!

I layered my stamped piece onto the embossed one and then onto Lost Lagoon card measuring 9.5 x 13.5 cm. Before adding this to my card base I added some Summer Splash ribbon. Then I stamped the larger leaf image from Textured Notes with Shaded Spruce ink and filled in the white parts with Summer Splash Stampin’ Blends. I fussy cut this and added it over the ribbon. Finally, I stamped the thank you with Shaded Spruce ink and cut it with my 1-3/4″ circle punch and popped it up with dimensionals…

I thought it needed a little bit of bling so I coloured some white sequins with Summer Splash Stampin’ Blends and added them to my sentiment circle.
