Hello! My friend and team member Hazel encouraged me to take part in a challenge over at The Joy Of Sets facebook group. The challenge was to create a new project using only shades of purple, although we can use black and white too. My biggest challenge was to not use any green, lol. So here’s my Purple Painted Lavender card…
Gorgeous Grape is one of my favourite colours, so it wasn’t too much of a challenge.
ABOUT MY CARD
I started with a card base of Gorgeous Grape card and then added a black and white design from the soon to retire Zoo Crew designer series paper pack. Next I cut a layer of Gorgeous Grape card and splashed it with diluted white ink. I thought that went well with the spotty DSP. I stamped butterflies from the Painted Lavender stamp set with Gorgeous Grape ink too.
Then I used the Painted Lavender dies to cut various pieces from Highland Heather, Fresh Freesia, Gorgeous Grape and Basic White card and arranged them. I wanted to add some black twine from the Baker’s Twine Essentials pack to the card but I thought it was a bit too thick and bulky, compared to the delicate die cuts. So, I pulled it apart into individual strands that I added in a messy pile of loops…
My sentiment is from the soon to retired Perennial Postage stamp set. This is the only part of the Perennial Lavender suite that is retiring – thank goodness! I stamped with Gorgeous Grape ink on Basic White card then cut with a Perennial Postage die. Then I cut a small piece of Fresh Freesia card with another one of the Perennial Postage dies, glued them together and then added them to my card with dimensionals.
I added some black Sparkle gems and finally added a white panel inside with a tiny bit of stamping…
I like the end result, with all that depth and dimension. But, what do you think?
