Circle Sayings birthday card – Creative Colour Challenge 113

October 31, 2023

31 Oct

Hello and welcome to another card created for the Creative Colour Challenges. Honestly, the weeks just seem to flying by right now! Anyway, I’ve used this week’s colours for this Circle Sayings birthday card…

THE CHALLENGE

So you can join in, these are the colours for this week’s challenge over at www.creativecolourchallenges.blogspot.com

Please CLICK HERE to find out more about this challenge and to join in the fun with this week’s 3 colours.

about my card

This must be one of the quickest cards I’ve ever made for the Creative Colour Challenges! I simply took a piece of spotty Poppy Parade DSP from the 6″ x 6″ pack and trimmed it down to 10cm x 14 cm. This left me with a wide strip I can use for another project and a little piece to add to the inside of the card.

Before adding the DSP to my Smoky Slate card base, I coloured in some of the dots with Night of Navy and Smoky Slate dark Stampin’ Blends. As the dots are not perfect circles, I didn’t even bother if I coloured outside of the lines, lol!

I also added some Night of Navy ribbon across the DSP before adding it to my card. Then I stamped and die cut the sentiment on Basic White card with Poppy Parade and Night of Navy inks. I backed that circle with one I punched from Smoky Slate card with the 2-3/8″ circle punch. The sentiment was popped on with dimensionals over the ribbon…

For a bit of bling, I added some rhinestones.

measurements

My card base is Smoky Slate card measuring 29 x 10.5 cm, scored and folded on the long side at 14.5 cm. My Poppy Parade DSP layer measures 10 x 14 cm to give a neat little border. You’ll need another white card piece the same side for your insert, along with a DSP strip 10 cm wide.

You’ll also need a pieces of Basic White and Smoky Slate card to die cut and punch the circles.

I hope you like my card with this week’s colours. Why don’t you see what you can make with these colours and join in the fun?

You don’t need a blog, you can simply upload a photograph of your creation to take part. CLICK HERE to find out more.

Love that background Heather – such a great idea to colour some of the spots!

Thank you! I’ve had the idea in reserve for ages and as I was short on time this week, I gave it a go 🤣❤️ x
