Snow Crystal vellum card – Share it Sunday Blog Hop

The card uses a fun technique where you add colour to vellum with Stampin Blends and then spritz it with alcohol to dilute and move the colour around. I added a little bit more colour and then more alcohol until I was happy with the result. This technique will give you a different result every single time!

Once my vellum was dry I turned it over and stamped the gorgeous Snow Crystal onto it with versamark ink, added white embossing powder and heat set it. I simply love the contrast of the matt vellum with the super shiny embossed snowflake!

To add this vellum to my standard Basic White Thick card base, I used the Deckled Rectangle dies to create a frame from Tahitian Tide card. This was also one of the Stampin’ Blends colours I used.

The sentiment is from Sparkling Snowflakes and I used Starry Sky ink on Basic White card and cut it with the smallest Deckled Rectangle die. Before adding it to my card with dimensionals, I unwound a piece of the silver Simply Elegant trim to get silvery strands just like we used to throw over our Christmas tree many years ago….

The final touch was to add some In Color pearls. I hope you like it and will perhaps give it a try.

MEASUREMENTS

To make this card you’ll need the following supplies:

• Basic White Thick card measuring 21 x 14.5 cm, scored and folded on the long side at 10.5 cm to form the base
• Tahitian Tide card measuring 10 x 14 cm to die cut the frame (save the middle piece for another project)
• White vellum measuring 9 x 12.5 cm
• a scrap of Basic White card for the sentiment (approx 7 x 4 cm)
