InspireINK February Blog Hop – For A Special Lady

Hello! Today I’m taking part in the InspireINK Blog Hop with the theme of For A Special Lady. Once you’ve read my blog please click on the Next button to hop along to see what everyone else in the group have created to inspire you.

I think there can be no more special lady than your Mother – or a Mother figure! For today’s card I also wanted to show some #simplestamping to demonstrate how easy it is to create a pretty card to share your love…

I used a card base from Whisper White Thick card measuring 21 x 14.5 cm, scored and folded on the long side at 10.5 cm to create a landscape tent fold card. I added a layer of Melon Mambo card but you could miss this step out and stamp straight onto your card base if you wish.

I used the flowers stamp from Bloom By Bloom using Lemon Lime Twist ink for the stems, Melon Mambo, Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight and Coastal Cabana inks for the flowers. As this is an abstract style of stamp you can choose whatever colours you like and you don’t have to be super accurate with lining up your stamps. That’s what abstract is all about, isn’t it? It gives the impression of flowers without having to stick to exactly what you’d find in nature.

I stamped the Happy Mother’s Day from the Strong & Beautiful stamp set in Melon Mambo ink.

I wound some Lovely Lipstick ribbon round the stamped layer and taped it to the back, before adding it to the card base and then added a bow from the same ribbon with mini glue dots.
