Hello and thank you for joining me today.
Stampin’ Up! have challenged us independent demonstrators to go back to our roots and share some projects suitable for beginner stampers and we’re sharing ideas with the hashtag #simplestamping. So if you’re a novice or would like some more ideas for simple cards please look out for this hashtag right across all types of social media. You’ll be amazed at how creative people can be with limited supplies!
Here’s my latest #simplestamping card…
I have used our Very Vanilla notecards and envelopes and stamped straight onto the notecard with only 3 stamps that are all from the same set and 2 ink pads.
The stamp set I used is Rooted In Nature which has a total of 16 stamps with large and small sentiments, trees, leaves, a branch and a tree slice. Although it may seem a rather expensive set for a beginner the combinations are amazing and you’d find lots of inspiration for using this set on Pinterest (or by looking back through my blogs as it’s one of my favourite sets).
I stamped the sentiment and smaller leaves in Smoky Slate and the larger leaves in Mint Macaron, but you could use any colours you like, who says leaves can only be green, orange or brown? Not me!!
You may notice that I partially stamped some of the leaves inside and on the card front. Just make sure that when you stamp these that you have a piece of scrap paper underneath your card so you don’t get ink on your table.
I also thought I’d show you how you can step it up a little with a very simple technique. I decided to stamp the flap of the envelope too. To make sure I didn’t get any ink on the front of my envelope I masked it with a large post it note. You can simply use a piece of thin paper for this too, just try not to move it when you stamp…
I used the same colours for each stamp so that I didn’t have to clean them in between stamping but you could mix it up a bit more if you like.
I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s project and if you’re an avid crafter, who normally adds lots of layers, die cuts and bling, that perhaps you’ll give #simplestamping a try too. It’s more fun that you might imagine.
I’ve listed all of the products I’ve used in today’s project below. I’d be honoured if you chose to shop with me. You can simply click on any of the products listed and pop over to my online Stampin’ Up! shop that’s open 24 hours a day.
