Hello.
I’ve just had my first play with the Big Shot embossing mats which allow you to use your thinlits (or other dies) to emboss card, rather than cut it. Genius!!
I love the Flourish Thinlits so these were a natural choice for my first try with the embossing mats and I was not disappointed. It’s hard to photograph (for me anyway!) but it really does give a lovely deep embossed image without cutting the paper.
This opens up lots of new possibilities for all the dies in my craft room and I can’t wait to try out more soon.
My Whisper White card base measures 29 x 10.5 cm and was scored and folded at 14.5 cm to create a portrait tent fold.
I added some of the beautiful Tranquil Textures designer series paper measuring 10 x 14 cm.
I used the largest thinlit from the Flourish set with the embossing mats on Night of Navy card. Watch the Stampin’ Up! video below for more information on this fabulous product…
I trimmed my embossed Night of Navy card to measure 8 x 12 cm. I then stamped the Just a Note from the Flourishing Phrases stamp set in Versamark ink, sprinkled it with White Stampin’ Emboss powder and heat set it. So this part of the card has been embossed 2 ways!
I added this panel to my card, added a few pearls and the trellis piece that I cut from Whisper White card using one of the other Flourish thinlits dies.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this project, as much as I did when I made it.
