Creative Colour Challenges 20 – Artfully Layered with watercolouring

I love Granny Apple Green as it’s such a vibrant colour and I thought it would look great with the Artfully Layered stamps and a bit of watercolouring. Here’s the result…

I cut a piece of Fluid 100 watercolour paper down to measure 12.5 x 8.5 cm and started stamping it with the leaves from Artfully Layered. When you stamp a solid image onto watercolour paper it looks a bit patchy as the texture of the card is uneven. But if you go over the ink with a water painter brush it smoothes out beautifully…

It also makes you feel a bit like an artist, lol. For the line image stamps I just added some ink onto a small clear block, diluted it and used a water painter to colour in between the lines. I also used this diluted ink to splash some spots onto the paper once I’d finished my stamping and watercolouring.

I used the coordinating Tropical Layers dies to cut 2 leaves from both Mossy Meadow and Granny Apple Green card and combined both colours when adding the die cuts to my watercolour paper.

I stamped the sentiment with Mossy Meadow ink onto Crumb Cake card and added it to a piece of Granny Apple Green card that I’d cut with the edging die from Tropical Layers. This was added to the card and over some loops of twine with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
