Thinking of you card featuring Stampin’ Up! Serene Garden

Today’s project is a card made with the Serene Garden stamp set and Garden Scene framelits dies…

If you buy the stamps and dies together as a bundle you save 10% on the cost of buying them separately.

I used this set for my most recent blog hop but simply heat embossed the main corner stamp twice…

So this time I wanted to add lots more colour by using my Stampin’ Blends. I used the same stamp as in the embossed card but decided not to include the lines at the edges plus add in a couple of extras from the stamp set.  I stamped in Memento ink onto Whisper White card this time.  I coloured the leaves with both light and dark Old Olive blends, the branches with light Crumb Cake and the flowers with light and dark Daffodil Delight.  I then used my light Pool Party blend to colour the background, adding a little more shading near the leaves.

I also stamped the bird and cut it out with the matching framelit.  I used my light Smoky Slate blend to add a little colour to the wings and tail feathers.  I added the bird to my card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The Thinking of You sentiment comes from the Rooted in Nature stamp set, which is definitely one of my current favourite sets!  I added some Wink of Stella to the flowers for a bit of shimmery bling.

My coloured panel measures 13.5 x 9.5 cm and was backed with an Old Olive panel measuring 14 x 10 cm.  This in turn was added to my Pool Party card that measures 21 x 14.5 cm, scored and folded at 10.5 cm to form a standard side opening card base.
