Hobby Haven birthday card – tutorial

Hello! I hope you are well. Yesterday, Stampin’ Up! launched a whole host of awesome new Online Exclusive products. This includes a marvellous product suite collection based around various hobbies. Isn’t that just perfect for us crafters? I haven’t splurged on the whole suite (YET) but I did pre purchase the awesome designer series paper pack. And here’s the first Hobby Haven birthday card I made with it…

The paper pack has a fantastic selection of designs, but one of them includes a huge variety of pop out pieces of ephemera. Like the coffee mug I used on this card. I used that to tuck the sentiment piece under. When you take it out the card looks like this…

And like this when it’s fully opened…

The sentiment is from the Simply Said stamp set.

I made packs up for this card to send to my Nellie’s Stampers team and we had a lot of fun creating them. A couple of my team weren’t able to attend so I thought I’d record a video to help them make their cards…

MEASUREMENTS

To make the Hobby Haven birthday card in today’s video you’ll need the following supplies:

• Coastal Cabana card measuring 21 x 14.5 cm
  • score on the long side at 10.5 cm
  • cut on the long side at 3 cm
  • score the piece cut off on the long side at 8 cm
• Basic White card measuring 10 x 14 cm for the inside
• Coastal Cabana card for the card topper measuring 8.5 x 12.5 cm
• Hobby Have DSP as follows
  • 1 piece measuring 14 x 7 cm (for the card base)
  • 1 piece measuring 14 x 3.5 cm (for the inside)
  • 1 piece measuring 8 x 12 cm (for the card topper)
• Basic White card measuring 2.5 x 7.5 cm for the sentiment
• A piece of ephemera
• Ribbon
• Embellishments
