Large Lidded Birthday Box – tutorial

Hello! I hope you are well. I needed to make a gift box that would hold some small birthday gifts, so I’ve created this large lidded birthday box…

The box measures 6″ x 6″ x 2″ deep, so would be a very handy size for lots of birthday gift ideas.

I made the base of my box from 12″ x 12″ Basic White card that I had in my stash, but if I’d had some I would have used the new 12″ x 12″ Basic White thick card instead. The lid was made with Floral Charm 12″ x 12″ DSP. You’ll get the measurements you need further down in this blog post.

I used the Layered Thoughts stamp set and Sentimental Framing dies for the decoration on the lid, along with this gorgeous braided trim…

The decoration didn’t quite work out how I’d imagined it, as I clearly didn’t think it fully through! But I’m happy with how it ended up in the end. Find out more from today’s video…

MEASUREMENTS

To make the large lidded birthday box in today’s video you’ll need the following supplies:

• Basic White Thick card measuring 10″ x 10″
  • score on all 4 sides at 2″
• Floral Charm designer series paper measuring 8-1/16″ x 8-1/16″
  • score on all 4 sides at 1″
• Basic White and Mossy Meadow card pieces to die cut the sentiment frame pieces
• Petal Pink braided trim
• Embellishments
