Hello! I hope you are well. The past week has flown by and I’m finding it hard to believe that it’s time for another Creative Colour Challenge! But it is, and I’ve used this week’s 3 challenge colours on this Charming Day birthday card…

THE CHALLENGE
Each week my friend Vickie of Vickie Lou Designs challenges us to get creative with 3 randomly selected colours. I love joining in this challenge whenever I can. So you can join in too, these are the colours for this week’s challenge over at www.creativecolourchallenges.blogspot.com

ABOUT MY CARD
For today’s card I’ve combined the new Online Exclusive Charming Day stamps and dies bundle with an older Online Exclusive stamp set; Elements of Text. And I really like the combination.
To start off I stamped the floral image with Gray Granite ink onto a piece of Basic White card that measures 9.5 x 13.5 cm. I positioned the stamp where I wanted the image to be on the final card and then die cut it out. I used Stampin’ Blends in Pool Party and Petunia Pop to colour the image, ready to add it back to the card later.
Then I stamped the Basic White card that I’d cut the floral image from, using Gray Granite ink and the round stamp from Elements of Text. I just kept stamping until I’d filled the piece of card. And then I stamped some more with one of the splatter stamps and both Pool Party and Gray Granite inks. Once I was happy with that I decided to emboss the piece with the floral folder from the Glass & Gardens set.
Then I backed this stamped and embossed layer with a piece of Pool Party card measuring 10 x 14 cm and add it to a Basic White Thick card base (21 x 14.5cm, scored & folded on the long side at 10.5 cm). I added some of the Petunia Pop ribbon that’s currently on the Last Chance products list to the hole left when I die cut the floral image earlier. Then I added that die cut back into that hole…

I didn’t use dimensionals, just glue, so that I wasn’t bulking the card up too much. The birthday sentiment is from the Charming Day bundle and I used Petunia Pop ink on Basic White card. I cut a piece of Pool Party card and Gray Granite card to the same size as the sentiment piece and glued them together just at the left side, so it gives a little bit of dimension on the other end. My final touch was to add some Party Dots that are also a Last Chance product.
The embossing was difficult to photograph but hopefully I’ve managed to capture it well enough in this photo…

I like the end result and hope you do too!.
