Hello! I hope you are well. I am just back from my vacation in Florida, where one of the highlights was getting to hug Winnie the Pooh! We had so much fun, but by the end I was really missing the quiet solitude of my lovely craft room. So, at my first opportunity I used the colours from this week’s Creative Colour Challenges for this Glass & Gardens thanks card…

ABOUT MY CARD
I used this colour challenge as an excuse to take some time out and colour! Stampin’ Up! has so many tools to help add colour to our creations and I used a few different ones for today’s Glass & Gardens thanks card.
I began by using one of the Glass & Gardens embossing folder to emboss the gorgeous floral design onto a piece of Crumb Cake card. Colouring onto Crumb Cake card does give the other colours a different tone from when you use the same colours on white card. So, why not give it a try sometime? Or use a different light shade of card to colour onto? There are so many to choose.
COLOURING METHODS
Initially, I thought I would use Stampin’ Blends to do all of the colouring until I realised that I don’t have blends in Mossy Meadow. But I do have a Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Write marker and of course the ink pad for this colour. I used the pen on the outline of all the leaves, then added ink to a clear block.
You can scribble with the Stampin’ Write marker, add a drop of ink refill or smudge some ink with your ink pad to do this. Using one of the Water Painter brushes, I added water to the ink and used it to colour in the leaves. I used the same technique with Highland Heather ink for some of the flowers. But I also used the light and dark Highland Heather blends on other flowers. I even mixed the two colouring methods on a couple of the flowers…

You could also use Wink Of Stella instead of a water painter brush if you wanted a lot of sparkle. I only used mine to add some sparkle to a few of the tiny flowers I’d coloured with Stampin’ Blends. I love all the tones you get with watercolouring and don’t card if I colour outside of the lines either! It all adds to the effect and highlights the wonderful detail you get with this embossing folder…

I added the embossed and coloured Crumb Cake panel (measuring 6.5 x 14.5 cm) onto a piece of Mossy Meadow card (measuring 7 x 14.5 cm) onto my Crumb Cake card base (21 x 14.5 cm, scored & folded on the long side at 10.5 cm). My thanks sentiment is from Blooming Phrases and I used Mossy Meadow ink.
My final touch on the card front was to add some Purple Fine Shimmer gems.
