Hello! I hope you are well. It was my friend and Stampin’ Up! team manager Valerie’s birthday on Sunday so I made this CAS 60th birthday card for her…

ABOUT MY CARD
For those that don’t know CAS stands for Clean And Simple. It’s a style of card that I really love, but I must admit that I struggle with this style of cards sometimes. I love colour and sparkle and often keep adding to a card, forgetting that often less is more!
To keep this a CAS card I restricted myself to using only white and silver and clean lines. I added a layer of Silver Foil to my Basic White Thick card base. The next layer is Basic White card that I added some vertical score lines with the help of my trusty Simply Scored board. It’s a subtle detail that adds extra interest without being as distracting as a fully embossed layer.
I used more Silver Foil to die cut the larger rectangle with one of the Textured Notes dies and the 60 with the Birthday Celebration dies. The detail on these rectangle dies is gorgeous…

I masked off each part of the Happy Birthday stamp from Simply Said to heat emboss it separately; so that it would fit my white rectangle. The TH stamp is from Birthday Celebration and the little flag die is from the set of the same name. This was the only piece I popped up with a dimensional.
I’m really happy with the way this CAS 60th birthday card turned out. I hope you like it too.
