Hello! I hope you are well. The lovely Sam Hammond Donald of Pootles fame has set her wider team a challenge to create a Travel themed project. I always think that packing your suitcase is one of the worst and best parts of travelling. On the one hand you stress about what to put in there, how much it will weigh, if you’ll have room to bring back souvenirs etc. But on the plus side, packing is exciting as you’re almost ready to go on your adventures! So, I decided to make this vintage suitcase gift box for the challenge…

I sure am glad that we don’t have to carry suitcases by the handle these days. Wheels on a suitcase are an absolute heaven sent invention! But I do like the vintage vibes this cute treat holder is giving….

MEASUREMENTS
To make the vintage suitcase gift box in today’s video you’ll need the following supplies:
- Pecan Pie card for the box measuring 7-3/4″ x 6-1/2″
- scored on the long side at 1-1/4″, 3-1/4″, 4-1/2″ and 6-1/2″
- scored on the short side at 1-1/4″ and 5-1/4″
- Early Espresso card to punch or die cut seven 1″ circles and one 1/2″ circle
- 2 strips of Early Espresso for the straps measuring 3/8″ x 8″ (approx)
- 1 strip of Early Espresso card for the handle measuring 3/” x 3-3/4″
- scored on the long side at 3/8″, 3/4″ 3″ and 3-3/8″
- A scrap of Crumb Cake card to stamp and die cut a tag *
- Twine to attach the card
- Embellishments
The completed box measures 4″ x 2″ x 1-1/4″
- the Greetings of the Season dies I used are a Last Chance product and currently reduced in price from £30 to just £12 – grab them while you can!
