ABOUT MY CARD
To be honest, I could have used almost any colour combination for this card and this challenge was just the excuse I needed to create a card with this fun For The Books stamp set. And the card could have had lots of other sentiments but I’m a bit low on birthday cards. That’s another one to add to my dwindling stash.
First of all I stamped the horizontal pile of books with Basic Gray ink onto a scrap of Basic White card, coloured them with the Stampin’ Blends in the challenge colours then fussy cut them. I decided I needed more books so stamped the group of 4 vertical books and the 2 books at an angle next to them. I stamped the 4 books a second time so I had more that I could use. But I ended up only using 2 of them as it’s so easy to snip these books apart to get more options.
The background text comes from a new online exclusive stamp set called Elements of Text. I stamped it of the edge of my layer with Blueberry Bushel ink. Then I stamped the ink splatter from that same set in second and third generation ink (stamping the full strength off onto a piece of scrap paper before using it on my card.
I just knew that I needed to include the lovely little reading glasses stamp set, did you spot it on top of the pile of books?
I think I want a pair of red glasses now!
