ABOUT MY CARD
I was extremely lucky enough to win the Grassy Grove stamp set and matching dies in the raffle at the crafty retreat last weekend. As always, I just needed half an excuse to get a new stamp set inky and this week’s challenge was the perfect excuse!
I thought the Fresh Freesia and Lemon Lolly would blend together nicely for a background to Early Espresso deer. And I love the result!
I cut 3 pieces of white card to add to my Lemon Lolly card base, one just slightly smaller than the other 2. The smaller piece is the one I added the blended inks. I die cut a circle in the top layer and the other one went inside, with a little bit of stamping too.
To make sure I had my trees stamped in the right position I layered the die cut and ink blended pieces together and used a pencil to lightly draw around the circle. This meant I could see where the trees would look best. I also splashed a little water onto the ink blended background for added interest.
After stamping the sentiments I glued the layers onto my card and added those 2 adorable deer die cuts.
