ABOUT MY CARD
I recently took part in a Pootlers team challenge and was lucky enough to win a stamp set of my choice. So, even although I have a bit of phobia of butterflies in real life, I chose the Sketched Butterflies stamp set. I really like the line images in this set, they give me vintage etching vibes. The stamp set was delivered while I was contemplating this week’s Creative Challenge Colours and I really just needed any excuse to play with my new stamps!
I stamped the largest Sketched Butterflies stamp with Night Of Navy ink onto a piece of Basic White card then coloured the wings with light and dark Melon Mambo Stampin’ Blends. I used my light Night Of Navy Stampin’ Blend to colour the butterfly’s body.
To bring in the Gray Cranite I first of all added it to the white card layer with a blending brush. Then I stamped the dots from Spotlight On Nature around the main butterfly image. Finally, I stamped the smallest butterflies from the set too.
To continue with the vintage feel I roughed up the edges of the white card using the blade of my paper snips. Then I added more Gray Granite ink…

.
I stamped the sentiment with Night Of Navy on Basic White card and then cut it up into sections to glue onto my card front. I backed my stamped layer with Night Of Navy card and added it to a Basic White Thick card base.
Remember, you can take part in this colour challenge too. Just click here to find out more. You don’t need to have a blog to enter, you can just upload a photo of your project using this week’s colours.
