Hello! I hope you are well. I’m a little later than usual with my entry for this week’s Creative Colour Challenges. But better late(r) than never! I’ve used this week’s colours for this watercolour Thoughtful Wishes card…

ABOUT MY CARD
It’s been so long since I played with inks for a watercolour wash background and I thought this week’s colours would look good together in watercolour stripes. And I really do like the outcome!
I started with half a sheet of Fluid 100 Watercolor paper. Then I added some of the 3 inks to clear blocks and diluted them with water, using a Stampin’ Spritz. I added water to the Fluid 100 paper too, that makes it easier to move the colours around.
Diluting the inks does change the colours, so my Crushed Curry looks more like Daffodil Delight. I promise I used the right inks, lol. Once I was happy with the stripes of colour I used my heat tool to dry it. You can leave it to dry naturally, but I really don’t have the patience for that!
When it was dry I thought it needed a bit more ‘texture’ so I spritzed it with water again. So I needed to dry it with my heat tool again.
I stamped the leafy stems with Night Of Navy ink onto the dry watercolour wash background. I still thought it needed more so added some splashes of white ink too.
Then I added it to Crushed Curry card (9 x 13 cm), then Lost Lagoon card (9.5 x 13.5 cm). Finally I added the layers to a Night Of Navy card base (29 x 10.5 cm, scored & folded at 14.5 cm).
My sentiment is from Thoughtful Wishes and was stamped with Night Of Navy ink onto a scrap of Basic White card. I trimmed the ends with the Happy Labels Pick A Punch. I used the other part of the punch on the ends of a scrap of Night Of Navy card, layered them together and added them to the card front. Because I’ve got lots of layers, I didn’t use dimensionals on the sentiment this time.
Of course, I had to add a bit of stamping to the Basic White card insert…
My final touch was to add some Lost Lagoon Tinsel Gems.
I really did enjoy this creative process!
