Today I’m taking part in the InspireInk blog hop, with a few of my talented Pootlers team mates. This month our theme is Sympathy. Nobody likes to have to make this type of card, but they can give the recipient so much comfort. I have created this Layers of Beauty sympathy card…
The Layers of Beauty bundle consists of a stamp set, some layering masks and a set of dies. I chose to keep my card quite simple so only used the stamps and masks with Basic Gray and Smoky Slate inks. The layering masks make it so simple to get all that lovely shading on the flowers and leaves, even with just one ink colour. The white card looked a bit stark so I toned it down with a little more Smoky Slate ink on my blending brush.
For my sentiment I turned to the Something Fancy stamp set and the coordinating set of dies. I stamped the sentiment with Basic Gray ink and added some little flowers with Smoky Slate ink. Again, I added a little Smoky Slate ink with my blending brush.
Before adding my panel to a Smoky Slate card base I wound some black baker’s twine around it and added a little bow. I popped the sentiment over the twine with dimensionals…
My final touch was to add some Sparkle Gems.
