Bright & Beautiful Bargello card – Technique Squad Blog Hop

18 Jul

Today I’m taking part in the Technique Squad blog hop for the very first time! Thank you if you’ve joined me from JoAnne Pollock’s blog. The technique for this hop is called Bargello, which I’ll be honest, I’d never heard of before. However, I’ve learned about the technique and here’s my Bright & Beautiful Bargello card…

For this bargello technique I used strips of the Bright & Beautiful 6″ x 6″ designer series paper that were between 1/2″ and 5/8″ wide and 6″ long. I added them to a piece of card with the short side along the top, using liquid glue. Next I chopped that piece of card up in a horizontal direction to give me strips with lots of squares or rectangles on them. The final step in the technique is to arrange the strips onto another piece of card, in whatever pattern you chose then add this to a card base. I actually added an extra step and embossed my layer with the Cute Crochet 3D folder, for more texture.

I stamped the sentiment from the Online Exclusive stamp set Everyday Greetings with Azure Afternoon ink and cut it with a Greetings of the Season die (but cut off the end with the hole). Using tear and tape adhesive, I added some Pretty Peacock & Gold ribbon and then put my sentiment label over it with dimensionals…

The finishing touch was to add some gold sequins. You can never have too much bling!

THE BLOG HOP

Please use these links to hop round and check out the other Bargello projects for more inspiration…

I’ve made another card with this technique since and I’ll be back with a video tutorial for that very soon.

SHOP THE PRODUCTS

I’ve listed the products I used for today’s project below. You can click on any of the links to see that product in my online shop. Unfortunately, at the time of writing the embossing powders are not available, but check back later.

CUSTOMER APPRECIATION

When you shop with me you’ll receive a handmade card and gift as a token of my appreciation. If your order is under £150 please use the current Host Code. This means that I can add in a free product to your customer thank you pack for the month. Find out more on the Host Code page in the main menu.

Happy crafting,

Heather x
