Partial die cut card – Touches of Ink Blog Hop June 2024

Today I’m taking part in the Touches of Ink blog hop, so you may have joined me from my fabulous friend, and fellow Scot, Janice Thomson’s blog. We are all using our free choice of bundle or suite from Stampin’ Up! I’ve picked one of the cutest bundles ever – Hearts & Hugs! Here’s my partial die cut card…

ABOUT MY CARD

My card base is Thick Basic White card measuring 29 x 10.5 cm, scored and folded on the long side at 14.5 cm. The next layer is Pool Party card measuring 10 x 14 cm. Then I cut 2 pieces of Basic White card that were 14 x 7 cm and 14 x 5 cm ( the height of the card is just a suggestion, depending on how much white background you want)

I stamped the walrus couple with Basic Gray ink onto the larger piece of Basic White card (14 x 7 cm) and coloured it with Smokey Slate and Bubble Bath Stampin’ Blends. Then I lined up the die around the stamped image but when I put it into my Cut & Emboss machine I made sure that the top plate didn’t go over the bottom edge of the die as shown below… (although this example was stamped onto Gray Granite card)

Once I finished the die cutting it looked like this and then I simply ripped off the sides…

I ripped the edge of the remaining strip of Basic White card then set about adding some Pool Party ink to the edges, especially the ripped ones. on both pieces. To give the effect of snow I diluted some white ink with water and splashed it onto my Pool Party card. Allow this to dry before you glue on your 2 pieces of white card. I then inked the edges of the whole piece with Pool Party ink before adding it to my card base…

My final touch was to stamp a sentiment, cut it with the banner die from Hearts & Hugs and pop that on with dimensionals. I hope you like it!
