ABOUT MY CARD
This Layers of Beauty anniversary card didn’t turn out as planned, thanks to a little clumsiness on my part! But I really love how it did turn out±
I made my card base from Moody Mauve card and then cut a piece of Basic White to go on top and one to go inside. Before embossing the layer of white card for the top I added Moody Mauve ink to the inside of the Cute Crochet 3D folder. By adding the ink to the section with the Stampin’ Up! logo it added colour to the indented pieces and left the raised parts white.
I stamped the large floral image from Layers Of Beauty with Night Of Navy ink and then used the decorative masks from the bundle to add Real Red ink to the flower and Moody Mauve to the leaves, with blending brushes. I then used the smaller coordinating die to just cut out this single flower. The extra leaves on the card were also cut with dies from this amazing bundle.
why my design changed!
I stamped the sentiment with Night of Navy ink and cut it with the Heartfelt Hexagon punch. And this is where my card took a detour! Because I dropped my Night of Navy ink pad onto my card base with it’s embossed layer. Rather than bin it and start again, I embraced it and swiped that ink pad all over the card…
Because the Cute Crochet folder is 3D the ink pad only caught some of the raised pieces and some stayed white. And I love the result! Do you?
My final touches were some glittered ribbon and gold sequins. I hope you like how I’ve used this week’s colours.
