Hello! I’ve not been able to take part in the Creative Colour Challenges for the past couple of weeks. So as soon as this week’s colours were announced I grabbed a brand new bundle and made this Spotlight On Nature card…

about my CARD
The Spotlight On Nature bundle is one of the products I got an Stampin’ Up! OnStage in Rotterdam and I’ve been itching to play with the dies ever since. The stamp set is a lovely mix of the flowers I used for today’s card, leaves, a butterfly, 2 sentiments and 2 textural images. The dies set is a fabulous collection of 12 circle dies with 4 sizes of each of 3 designs. Theses will be available to purchase from 1 May 2024.
I stamped the floral image with Stazon ink onto a piece of Basic White card. Then I used the 3 colours of ink from this week’s challenge to ‘watercolour’ the image using my Wink Of Stella pen. I love the way you can blend the inks and of course the awesome shimmery effect…
My colouring wasn’t terribly accurate but I don’t really care, lol. There is a splatter stamp in the set but I wanted to really mix up the colours so I diluted the inks and splattered my card using Water Painters. It’s messy, but so much fun!
Once it was dry, I used a Spotlight On Nature die to cut part of the floral image. I glued the remaining panel to a Wild Wheat card base and then added the circle back in but popped up with dimensionals. I stamped the sentiment from the set with Starry Sky ink and gave it the same ink splatter treatment. This was cut with the smallest die with the same pattern around the edge. Then I used the next one up to cut a piece of Moody Mauve card and glued them together. I added strips of Moody Mauve and Starry Sky card to the card and then popped the sentiment circles up with dimensionals too…
I love that you can match the designs on the edges of these circles, or indeed mix them up. My final touch was to add some extra sparkle with Wild Wheat and Moody Mauve dots.
I hope you like my Spotlight On Nature card with this week’s colours. Why don’t you see what you can make with these colours and join in the fun?
