about my CARD

Today sees a whole host of brand new Online Exclusive products arriving in my Stampin’ Up! shop. But we must not forget about the gorgeous ones we already have! The Irresistible Blooms has been around as an Online Exclusive for a while now but I thought it would be perfect for this colour challenge. I’ve done some simple stamping onto a Basic White card layer but also used a masking technique with sticky notes.

I stamped the larger of the 2 flowers first with Daffodil Delight card onto my card layer but also onto a sticky note. Then I fussy cut the flower from the sticky note and placed it over the one I’d stamped on my card. This allowed me to stamp the second flower and some Garden Green leaves without them overlapping the first flower. I did the same sticky note trick with the smaller flower but as I was only stamping leaves at the top I didn’t need to fully cut it out as you can see in the photo below…

I also used this smaller mask for the card insert layer.

My colouring on the flowers was done with my Daffodil Delight watercolour pencil and a blender pen. I used the same colouring method for the Garden Green leaves. However, we don’t have a Soft Sea Foam pencil so I used my light Stampin’ Blend instead. There’s no rules that say you can mix your colour mediums!
