Hello and welcome to the March 2024 Project Share Project blog hop. Our fabulous little group of independent Stampin’ Up! demonstrators share each others projects every Thursday and also create a new project for a monthly Blog Hop. This month, our theme is die cutting. I’ve created this Notes of Nature faux embossed card
ABOUT MY CARD
I’ve used die cuts to make my background look like it has been embossed a few times before. I was inspired to do this again after seeing a card my friend Janice Thompson made with this technique and this set of dies. Thanks for reminding me of this faux embossing technique Janice.
I die cut 3 of the large leafy stems from Notes of Nature using Crumb Cake card. I then glued them to another piece of Crumb Cake card, staggering them so they weren’t in a straight line. To fill the space I cut off the excess from the top and glued them to the bottom of the card layer.
I used 3 more dies from Notes of Nature with Granny Apple Green card, cutting each one twice. These were glued to the faux embossed layer and then my sentiment was added on top with dimensionals…
The sentiment comes from a new Online Exclusive stamp set available from 5 March 2024. It’s called Sweetly Scripted and has a total of 6 useful sentiments in gorgeous fonts. I selected the Happy Birthday one, inked it with Versamark and then Granny Apple Green ink, added clear embossing powder and heat set it. I love the shine!
My card base is Crumb Cake, then I’ve got a layer of Granny Apple Green card and then my Notes of Nature faux embossed card layer and sentiment. I added Granny Apple Green and Basic White layer inside…
Adding some Rustic Metallic dots was my final flourish!
